Active Noise Reduction (ANR)

Sound is a pressure wave, which consists of a compression phase and a rarefaction phase. A noise-cancellation speaker emits a sound wave with the same amplitude and the opposite polarity (in antiphase) to the original sound. The waves combine to form a new wave, in a process called interference, and effectively cancel each other out - an effect which is called phase cancellation. Depending on the circumstances and the method used, the resulting soundwave may be so faint as to be inaudible to human ears.

PMR Radios

HSL can provide PMR radios such as the submersible HT640 marine transceiver has been developed to offer a high level of durability and operational reliability, allowing it to be depended upon in the most extreme conditions, or the unique and advanced HT900 Series which conforms to all aspects of the European ATEX Directive. It further exceeds the ATEX requirements by being completely submersible - all other radios in this class are merely splash-proof. Polycon Radio System

The Polycon system provides a wireless communication link between the rescue crewmember and the SAR helicopter crew. The communication link is established by interfacing a transceiver, carried or worn by the rescue crewmember, with the aircraft’s ICS/intercom system.

HSL supplies dedicated SAR versions of the Alpha Eagle with waterproof looms and connectors to fit the Polycon Radio System.
