About Headset Services Limited

Since its inception, Headset Services Limited (HSL) has served the needs of the Airline Industry by providing and servicing Pilot Headsets, Helmets, Radio and other communication devices. Over time we have expanded our operations and now our customers include Airlines, Air Traffic Control, Emergency Services such as Police, Coastguard and Air Ambulance. Other sectors include Industrial, Airport Ground Handling and Broadcast.

Headset Services Limited was established in 1994 to supply the aviation industry with headsets and flying helmets of all kinds, as well as ear defenders and ancillaries within all these fields. Our customers include airlines, ground support companies, the military, helicopter operators, ATC, Police and Ambulance Air Support units, Search and Rescue, and private pilots. In June 2007, HSL was acquired by the MEL Group and shortly after moved into its purpose built premises at Shoreham Airport. Since then, the company has relocated to the Business Park in Lancing.

The company boasts specialists in all types of communication headsets and pilot helmets with many years of experience in the business; we have repaired or rebuilt virtually every type of headset and helmet in use. The company distributes headsets and spare parts for many popular brands. HSL provides a valuable service to airlines; maintaining headsets and other equipment for customers including British Airways, Air Canada, Easyjet, Aer Lingus and Virgin Atlantic Airways. We also supply ground support companies such as Servisair, DHL, British Airways, Swissport and Menzies. We back this up with a complete after sales support service, so that our customers can get the most out of the equipment they have purchased. Building on this success we have drawn on our experience and industry knowledge to further expand our range and can now offer headsets for all applications - Waterproof SAR, general communications, active noise reduction and bespoke headsets for high-levels of noise. We also modify, repair, refurbish, upgrade and build headsets, helmets, handsets, converters, extension leads, battery boxes and adaptors.

Our Approvals

Headset Services Limited is ISO9001-2015 approved and also has UK145 approval (Civil Aviation Authority). We are also a registered military supplier. Headset Services Limited is now established as the UK's leading supplier of headsets and we are now looking to grow the company steadily in all areas. HSL are proud to have been appointed the European Warranty Repair Centre for David Clark Inc.

Since becoming part of the MEL Aviation Group, we have continued to diversify into other areas of business. We are a distributor for the Polycon Communication System, a waterproof intercom radio that offers reliable communications between the winchman and the rest of the helicopter Search and Rescue (SAR) crew. This system, combined with our waterproof helmet looms and headsets provides a completely waterproof communications solution in the harshest of environments. Now we are part of a large international group the scale and diversity of projects we can tackle may have grown, but we have not forgotten that our business was founded on the idea that customers want quality service, expert personal advice and excellent back up and support, and we strive to deliver this to everyone from a new pilot who is looking to purchase their first headset right up to large scale military applications. Our business continues to grow and our good reputation is spreading worldwide as people learn and appreciate that Headset Services Limited is the company to call.

Our Repair Process

Approved

Headset Services Limited have an ISO9001:2015 and EASA Part145 approved workshop where repairs, servicing and modifications are carried out on site. Please remember to include our Repair Form when sending items into our facility.

Evaluation

Initial assessment takes place to analyze your item and determine its spec. Next, the item is fully inspected by one of our qualified technicians, and a repair plan is tailor made to address the specific parts to be repaired and/or replaced. Based on these findings, a quotation is produced and sent to the customer for approval.

Repair

Non-Account holders will be required to make payment before any work begins. Equipment is repaired to the original manufacturer's specifications and released with a Certificate of Conformity. The normal turnaround time for repairs is 2 - 5 days, pending available parts.

Hygiene

During the Repair and/or Service process, it is recommended that Hygiene Parts such as the Ear Seals and Microphone Windsocks be replaced, thereby maintaining the item's original comfort and performance.

Bespoke

In regard to the Alpha Helmets, our highly qualified workshop technicians can custom build leads, converters and adaptors for bespoke requirements. We can also retro-fit our own Active Noise Reduction system which offers Bluetooth functionality for making/receiving telephone calls.

Despatch

Items are returned with the use of a professional courier service such as DPD, DHL and UPS, of which provide Tracking Details.

Our offices on Lancing Business Park are open Monday (excluding Bank Holidays) to Friday from 9am until 5pm.
Our facility is Unit 8 at 73 Marlborough Road (opposite Paula Rosa offices) on the Lancing Business Park in Lancing, West Sussex, BN15 8AD. If you are planning to visit our facility, it is always advisable to call the day before to book a time slot.

Access from the A27

Head west on Upper Brighton Road/A27 towards Busticle Lane/Halewick Lane. Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Busticle Lane for 0.2 miles. Continue onto Western Road N for 0.9 miles. Turn left towards Commerce Way and then turn right onto Marlborough Road. Follow Marlborough Road and shortly after (Europcar) turn left onto Chartwell Road. Head north-eat on Chartwell Road for 0.8 miles (2 minutes) towards Spencer Road. Continue onto Marlborough Road. Look for Fire Station and Public Car Park. Turn left into the The Quoin Estate and look for Unit 8. Parking is available at our facility.

Access from the A259

From the A259 turn right at traffic lights onto Western Road. Then at Winston Road turn right. This will lead into Marlborough Road but is a one-way system. Turn right Chartwell Road for 0.8 miles (2 minutes) towards Spencer Road. Continue onto Marlborough Road. Look for Fire Station and Public Car Park. Turn left into the The Quoin Estate and look for Unit 8. Parking is available at our facility.
